PREREQUISITE FOR COSMETIC INJECTABLE PROCEDURES

All cosmetic procedures such as, Botox, Radiesse, and Restylane require a basic consultation with a qualified physician. The physician will discuss the procedure with you, so that you are fully aware of what it entails. You will provide the doctor with your complete medical history during this consultation, along with information on any allergies you may have, so that the physician can determine if you make a good candidate for the procedure

COSMETIC PROCEDURES

RESTYLANE®

Where can Restylane® be used?

RESTYLANE® is used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines); lipstick lines (the area just below the nose and above the upper lip); the corners of the mouth; and marionette lines (the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline).

During the Restylane Injection Procedure

Receiving your Restylane injections is simple, and takes only a few minutes to perform. There is no need for anesthesia to receive the injections, though in some cases the doctor may apply a topical numbing agent or use cold compresses to numb the skin where the injections will be given.

The doctor will inject the medication into the skin using a very thin needle, placing the solution into those muscles which have caused the skin to wrinkle and sag. Results from the Restylane injections can be seen almost immediately, and the entire injection process takes only about thirty minutes to complete.

After Receiving Restylane Injections

As this particular form of cosmetic treatment is non-invasive and the process causes virtually no pain, most people are able to return to their normal activities immediately following treatment. You may want to use cold compresses immediately following the treatment to help reduce the minor swelling that generally occurs, but any of the discomfort you experience from treatment should fade within a few hours.

The solution used in the Restylane injections will eventually be absorbed into your body so results from treatment are not permanent, however most people find that their results last for 10 to 12 months before another injection is necessary.

RADIESSE

What is RADIESSE dermal filler?

RADIESSE dermal filler is an injectable for facial folds and wrinkles. CalciumHydroxylapatite has a history of safe use in otology (ears), laryngeal (vocal chords), and dental and orthopedic applications .

What is RADIESSE dermal filler used for?

RADIESSE dermal filler is used to fill moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds—the creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth. RADIESSE filler will not correct the underlying causes.

Can RADIESSE dermal filler work for me?

Talk to your doctor about your medical history when deciding on treatment options. You should not use RADIESSE dermal filler if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. You should also not choose RADIESSE filler if you desire only short-term results.

How does RADIESSE dermal filler work?

Once injected, RADIESSE dermal filler immediately adds fullness to your face giving you a visible result at the first treatment session. RADIESSE filler contains microspheres made of a natural material called Calcium Hydroxylapatite in a water based gel carrier.

How long do treatment effects last?

Although treatment effects will differ for each person, in a clinical study, RADIESSE dermal filler lasted up to six months.

Do injections of RADIESSE dermal filler hurt?

As with any injection, injections with RADIESSE dermal filler may hurt. RADIESSE filler is injected in small amounts using a very fine needle. Your doctor may apply a topical or local anesthetic.

Are skin tests needed before treatment with RADIESSE dermal filler?

No skin testing is required prior to use.

Should I tell my healthcare provider what medications I am taking?

Yes. You should tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking, even over the counter medicines or treatments. If you are taking blood thinners or medications that may interfere with clotting of the blood, such as aspirin, you might be more likely to have bruising or bleeding at the injection site. There have been no studies of possible interactions between RADIESSE dermal filler and drugs or other substances or implant.

What to Expect During the Radiesse Procedure

Prior to the procedure, the areas are usually marked to ensure accurate product placement. Varying types of anesthetic are used, depending on the area being treated, to minimize any discomfort. Ice is applied to offer additional anesthesia and to minimize bruising. The product is slowly placed into the designated areas with a meticulous injection technique.

What to Expect After the Procedure

Immediately after the procedure, the treated areas will be slightly swollen and red. You will be sent home with reusable ice packs for use throughout the day. This helps minimize swelling and bruising, while providing comfort. Radiesse lasts from one to three years.

It is important to not have any facials, chemical peels, or waxing done to the treated areas for two weeks following Radiesse injections, as it takes two weeks for the product to settle.

BOTOX PROCEDURE

What you can expect with botox
Before the procedure

Your doctor or nurse may prescribe medicine to numb the area where the injection will be given.

During the procedure

Your doctor uses a thin needle to inject tiny amounts of Botox into your skin or muscles.

  • When treating facial wrinkles or other conditions, your doctor injects Botox into specific muscles. By carefully choosing the muscles to treat, your doctor weakens only the muscles needing treatment.
The number of injections needed depends on many factors, including the extent of the area being treated. For wrinkle treatment, aesthetic factors also play a role.

Botox injections take about 10 to 15 minutes and are usually done in the doctor’s office. You may experience mild pain with the injections, but most people find the discomfort tolerable.

After the procedure

Botox injections require little downtime, although you may experience bruising or other minor local side effects from the injection. Expect to resume your normal daily activities right after the procedure. Take care, though, not to rub or massage the treated areas. This can cause the toxin to migrate to a different area.
